What you'll do

2 hours・Hosted in English

In our lively tasting session, you'll sample 6 distinctive sakes, expertly paired with light bites to accentuate the flavors. We'll explore the basics of sake - how production methods and serving temperatures affect flavor profiles from dry to fruity. I'll guide you through the nuances of sparkling, cloudy, yamahai, and unpasteurised varieties.

As we taste, I'll share my impressions and explain the unique qualities of each pour. You'll discover which styles go best with different Japanese dishes. I'll demystify sake labels so you can interpret them and order with confidence for the rest of your trip.

With a solid foundation, I hope you'll appreciate sake more and enjoy discovering new favorites.

Other things to note

Let me know in advance if you have any food allergies or restrictions. As the bites will be small, it is also advisable to have a light meal beforehand.

Meet a Host, Mizuki

Having worked in the sake industry for over 10 years, including at an importer in Seattle, a brewery in Nara Prefecture, and now at a sake bar in Tokyo, I'm excited to share my passion for sake with visitors from around the world.
My background in tourism will allow me to design tours that showcase the rich culture around sake for international travelers.

I try over 200 different sakes each month, so I can help introduce people to the incredible variety that Japanese sake has to offer.
